With the coming of the Total Solar Eclipse, many in the art world were inspired with creative imaginative renditions of our Earth, Sun and Moon in eclipse alignment. I also was inspired by the upcoming phenomenon but, took a different approach.

What if the moon light shined upon my rendering of the eclipse art during  the eclipse, my  canvases would witness the event!

Around midday on August 21st, I was outside in the warm sunlight putting the finishing touches on the canvases, as the air started filling with an uneasy excitement. A while later, the sunlight started to recede, an eerie quiet filled the air as the birds chirping went deadly quiet.

Temperatures dropped 10 - 15 degrees while darkness fell upon the sky. Crickets started chirping all around me, and an owl hooted the misguided arrival of night.

The Solar Eclipse had arrived! It was one of those moments that took your breath away as you froze in the eeriness of the moment, not sure what to do.

As quickly as the moon's darkness came the sun returned along with an overwhelming feeling that I and the canvases had witnessed something very rear.
